Bangar is a small town in Brunei and the capital of Temburong district. Bangar is the administrative centre of the Temburong District of Brunei. The quiet small town is relatively isolated as Temburong is separated form the main part of the country by the Sarawak’s Limbang district. Bangar city is nicknamed as Rainforest city or the interior city. There is just one main road which runs through the town, roughly in the east-west direction. Heading east the road leads to Lawas, Sabah and to the west the road leads to the river crossing over to Limbang, Sarawak. It is the major source of local quarry where boulders are collected, processed and shipped to stockyards at Bandar Seri Begawan for the construction industries. According to the Census of 2008, the total population of Bangar city is 3,970. It has the density of 472 per Kilometers or 1222.5 square meters. Bangar is one of the famous tourist destinations in Brunei and is located in the district of Temburong. Although it is not as big as Bandar Seri Begawan, Bangar is an important landmark in the economic scenario of the Sultanate of Brunei. Bangar, Brunei is known for the large number of quarries that are scattered around the town. It is known that boulders are not only collected but processed so that they can be transported from Bangar in Brunei to various parts of the Sultanate of Brunei including the capital city or Bandar Seri Begawan. Most of the boulders that are carried from Bangar in Brunei are used for the construction business. It is easier to go to Bangar from Bandar Seri Begawan by boat. The other way to reach Bangar is by road and you have to take a bus through Malaysia as the district of Temburong is separated from other parts of Brunei by Sarawak. One of the famous tourist destinations in Bangar is the Ulu Temburong National Park. It is situated in one of the remote areas of Brunei and is an integral part of "Batu Apoi Forest Reserve". You have to take a boat to reach the park. Some of the major attractions in Ulu Temburong National Park include the Canopy Walkway which stands on the top of the tree and you can have a view of the jungle path from 50 m above the ground. You will have a sweeping view of the green around in the jungle. You will have the best view of the jungle from the top of the tree.
