Bandar Seri Begawan is the capital of Brunei and situated along the shores of the Brunei River. It is located in the Northern bank of the River Brunei. The river is home to a large number of marine flora and faunas. There are almost 88 species of flower plants and 33 species of ferns that are found on the riverside. Mangroves and swamps are also some of the regular inhabitant of the river. Wide range of insects, crabs, snails, shrimps, prawns, fish, otters, turtles, lizards, bats and flying foxes can also be found in Brunei River. There is a variety of migratory birds that come to the river during winter. These birds come all along China and Siberia to Brunei and if the visitors can manage to visit the place during the season can watch the migratory birds sitting in the river.
