Pura Tirta Empul, Bali is divided into 3 courtyards. At the first courtyard, there is a pool for public bathing. This bathing pool has springs gushing out through waterspouts. You will come across a number of bathing pools inside the inner sanctum as well.

Visitors to the Pura Tirta Empul in Bali are allowed to go up the main courtyard only. You can enjoy captivating views of the exquisite twin shrines and the split gate at the temple premise from the main courtyard. The courtyard has a huge open-air complex too.

The middle courtyard inside the temple houses the following-

Pool with 13 fountains: Its holy water is used for cremation.

Pool with 8 fountains: Its water is used for spiritual purification of sick people.

Pool with 5 fountains: The holy water of this pool is used by people who come to pray.

You will witness an old stone sculpture at the last courtyard of the Pura Tirta Empul temple. This structure, in the form of buffalo, called ‘Nandi', is well-preserved at this temple.
