Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, is recognized by the world as the Golden Land. It is one of the earliest homes of mankind, where one can have exclusive experiences of a life-time.

Myanmar, officially Union of Myanmar, also called Burma, Burmese Myanmar, or Pyidaungzu Myanmar Naingngandaw, is a country lying along the eastern coasts of the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea in southeast Asia.

The Country is about 1,275 miles (2,050 Km) long from north to south-including its 400-mile (640 Km) strip along the Malay Peninsula-and about 580 miles (935 Km) from east to west at its widest extent. Myanmar is bordered on the southeast by Thailand and Laos, on the northeast by China, and on the northwest by Bangladesh and the Indian states of Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, and Mizoram. Its coastline, on the south and southwest, borders the Bay of Bengal, the Gulf of Martaban, and the Andaman Sea. The capital is Yangôn (Rangoon).

The total area of Myanmar is 2,61,228 square miles (6,77,000 square kilometers ). It stretches for 582 miles (936 Km) from east to west and 1,275 miles (2,051 km) from north to south.
The length of contiguous frontier is 3,828 miles (6,129 Km), sharing 1,370 miles with China, 1,310 miles with Thailand, 832 miles with India, 1,687 miles with Bangladesh and 148 miles with Laos respectively. The length of the coastline from the mouth of Naaf River to Kawthaung is approximately 1,385 miles.
