Pattaya Beach in Chonburi, Thailand - South East Asia
Pattaya lies at a distance of 150 km to the southeast of Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. Till the 1960's, Pattaya Beach was a small fishing village when the people from Bangkok made it a weekend getaway. Now a full-fledged city with its own Mayor and Administration, Pattaya has something to offer to all its tourists. Pattaya Beach is known for its natural beauty, clean pollution-free environment, safe nightlife and plenty of seafood.
Pattaya is most famous as a beach resort. The long stretch of unpolluted and clear beach makes for a perfect setting to laze under the sun to get a bronze suntan. You can keep your cool by sipping coconut water and alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages. Indulge in water sports like Parasailing, Water-Skiing, Water Scooter, Scuba Diving, Snorkeling and Motor Boats. There are plenty of activities at the beach to keep you busy for the entire day. A living museum with curious and beautiful exhibits of animal kingdom, plant life and mineral resources, here you can also witness amusing and exciting shows. Watch out over 100 million year old petrified trees, 200 year old Thai-style trained trees, bonsais and gardens with exotic trees and colorful flowers. Look out for strange rocks shaped like animals and weighing up to 75 tons each. You will also find the largest artificial waterfall of Thailand in this Park and Farm. Rare animals including saltwater and freshwater crocodiles; giant catfish; snakehead fish; thepha fish; albino animals like bear, tiger, horse, cow and crocodile; elephant; camel; lions; deer; eastern sarus crane; emus and cassowaries. The Park and Farm has a group of 20 ostriches, which is the largest group in Thailand. You can get your photograph clicked with tamed tiger, bear and lion.Nong Nooch Tropical GardenIt has attracted a lot of tourists for a wide range of orchid species, palm garden and various flowering and decorative plants from all over the world. The beautifully landscaped gardens are ideal to stroll among the flower enjoying the profuse color and inhaling the sweet fragrance of millions of flowers. You would love to be friend with well-trained chimpanzees and elephants. Watch out the "Cultural Extravaganza", the one-hour show presenting Thai traditions and Ceremonies, Dances from all over the world, Sword-fights and Thai kickboxing. The highlight of the entire program is the Elephant Show where these giant animals ride bikes, play footballs and invite you for a tug-of-war.Sriracha Tiger ZooIt is the greatest Tiger Zoo in the world. Feed the camels, deer, wallabies, rabbits, elephants, ostriches and tiger cubs born in zoo. Get amazed at the friendship between tiger, pig and dog. Pattaya Beach, ThailandSanctuary of TruthOn the seashore of Rachvate Cape in Pattaya, look out for the Sanctuary of Truth. It is a castle built in 32 acres of land made of intricately carved teak wood depicting ancient knowledge of Thai artists at present. Built in 1981 with an objective to preserve and revive the ancient knowledge. The Sanctuary represents the true relationship between human beings and the universe, which are the father, mother, earth, sky, moon and stars.
